Change is part of life

Yesterday I had two patients that called to talk to me about my services asking how Physical Therapy could help them. What was interesting between these two individuals was their busy lifestyle and their determination to get better. They had finally dealt with the pain and limitations too long. One wanted to be a better Mom, to be their for her kids, to be able to play with them. The other wanted to be able to run without having debilitating low back pain and continue to participate in athletics and coaching.

Their intonation and attitude was similar. They wanted real results and wanted someone to work with them on their own time. They needed guidance that they were not receiving from other providers.

As I sat pondering on these interactions it led me to think of the Transtheoretical Model of change. There was a catalyst that helped them see that a change can lead to a healthier life.

Both patients have dealt with life, the aches and pains but finally realized they wanted more and deserved more.

I was humbled they had found me and chosen my skills and services. I don’t claim to know everything and in fact if you really ask me I think we are all just about average people just trying to make it in this life with our own challenges and struggles. However, I do know that our model at MTN PHYSIO is inspiring others and can help others live a better life. I am excited to bring a service like Physical Therapy to the archery, bowhunting and hunting world as it is necessary with the high demands our sports places on people.
